View documentWhat recognition tells you about a flooring choice
An award recognises a named product or achievement at a particular time. For your own home or housing development, the current flooring specification, installation details and supply documents still need to match the product you select.
For example, the Tanggam Kitchen System award concerns that design system; it does not certify every flooring product. The PEFC chain-of-custody certificate has a stated business scope, and any claim for an individual order should be supported by the applicable product and supply documentation.
Green Building Index and project documentation
The Green Building Index (GBI) assesses buildings. Flooring information may be relevant to a project’s materials and indoor-environment review, but a floor alone does not award a building rating.
ME Floor’s published sustainability information discusses low-VOC flooring, adhesives and sealants; formaldehyde-related information; regional sourcing; and sustainable timber. Ask for the documents relevant to your selected material, then have your project consultant assess them against the applicable GBI tool.
Credit criteria and assessment tools can differ. We do not treat the historical point examples on the original website as guaranteed points for a new project.
